Clinics and Services
We are offering several clinics (by appointment only)
Antenatal Clinic
Care of pregnant women is usually shared between your doctor, the community midwife team and the hospital. Please see your doctor for this service. You can register with the maternity unit at St Peters Hospital online: www.ashfordstpeters.net/self-referrals
Child Development Clinic
This clinic is shared between the doctors and the Health Visitors and is offered to all children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The doctors will usually perform the 8 weeks development check.
Child Immunisation
Baby immunisations are performed by our practice nurses. If you have any queries regarding the immunisation of your baby, please discuss these with the Health Visitor or the doctor. For further information, please visit: NHS.UK: NSH vaccinations and when to have them
Family Planning
All doctors offer contraception service. Separate Family Planning Clinic run by female doctors can also be booked. Please contact reception.
Cervical Smears
Cervical smear tests are carried out by our practice nurses and appointment should be made via Reception.
Travel Clinic
Please contact the practice for an update time and for an appointment.
- The Travel Clinic is by appointments only
- There will be a charge for prescription and vaccines
- It is run by our trained Practice nurses
- Our travel database is updated regularly with the latest information on travel health and prevention
There is further information about countries and vaccinations at: www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/destinations
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel – as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out our Travel Health Questionnaire before coming to see the nurse.
Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
